Founded in 2020, King of The Grid (KOTG) Esports stands as Malawi’s pioneering esports organization, dedicated to transforming gaming into a powerful vehicle for youth empowerment, digital innovation, and community development. As the driving force behind the establishment of the Esports Association of Malawi (EAM), KOTG has been instrumental in laying the foundation for structured competitive gaming in the country.

Our commitment to nurturing local talent has seen us organize national tournaments and represent Malawi on international stages, including events like the Africa Esports Championship at the Region 5 Youth Games in 2022. Through strategic partnerships with organizations such as the Global Esports Federation and numerous other communities and partners on the continent and the rest of the globe, we continue to elevate Malawi’s presence in the global esports arena.

Looking ahead, KOTG is expanding beyond competitive gaming in Malawi. We are venturing into game development, aiming to create content that resonates with African narratives and experiences. Our upcoming initiatives include the launch of Eclubs designed to foster grassroots participation and skill development. Additionally, we are investing in research and development at the intersection of esports, Web3 technologies, and digital innovation, with the goal of connecting more African communities and unlocking new economic opportunities.
